IT services firm leases 10,000 square feet at Whitehall Corporate Center

A couple of big Charlotte tenants are moving to Fort Mill, but information-technology services firm Versiant has done the opposite.

Versiant has leased about 10,000 square feet in Whitehall Corporate Center, relocating from Fort Mill, in part, because it wanted a Charlotte address.

Versiant moved to Whitehall a few weeks ago from Baxter Village, where it leased approximately 5,700 square feet.

Mike Massardo, CEO of Versiant, says he was looking for a more corporate setting where the firm could host large clients. Local companies such as Bridge Terminal Transport, Direct ChassisLink Inc. and SPX Corp. (NYSE:SPW) are among Versiant’s biggest customers.

“We also felt having a Charlotte address as opposed to a Fort Mill address carried a little more significance to it,” Massardo says.

The company took space in the Whitehall Corporate Center II building that was formerly occupied by American Asset Corp., the office park’s developer and owner. AAC is now based at the Fairview Plaza II building in SouthPark.

Whitehall Corporate Center is off Interstate 485 at Arrowood Road, on the southwest side of Charlotte.

Cooper Burton represented AAC on the Versiant lease.
